Team #24 White Noise - Project Aurora | EuRoC 2026
Aurora is White Noise NTUA’s first sounding rocket, developed to compete in the 3 km COTS category at EuRoC 2026. Powered by a Cesaroni Pro98 solid rocket motor, Aurora features an active airbraking system designed to precisely control its apogee to 3,000 meters. Its unconventional recovery architecture includes four deployable carbon-fiber fairing panels that open at apogee, followed by a dual-deployment parachute recovery system. Aurora also carries a scientific payload featuring a Digital Holographic Microscope (DHM), designed to investigate airborne microparticles and microplastics. At EuRoC 2026, Aurora completed a successful nominal flight, contributing to White Noise's 6th place overall finish, Best Rookie Team Award, and Payload Award.
